If you plan your trips well in advance this can drastically make the domestic airfares much cheaper. Additionally discounted domestic air travel is often offered as part of an International package, so make sure you check with your travel agent when booking before leaving home. Once here, both Qantas and Virgin offer immediate discounts of between 25-40% to overseas travellers and proof of overseas residence is required when booking.
